Role overview
We're seeking a Technical Architect to lead and scale a digital delivery team for a major public sector client. You'll partner closely with a Tech Lead to shape the technical direction of upcoming initiatives—from exploring the current landscape to building the team that will deliver future capabilities. This is a role for someone who thrives at the intersection of frontend engineering and high-level strategic planning.
Technical requirements: ✔️
- Proven experience as a Technical Architect in large-scale, public sector or government environments

Expertise in Node.js and JavaScript, with strong frontend architectural skills
- Ability to assess and map current technical state, plan future-state architecture, and guide implementation
- Skilled in collaborating with Tech Leads, Product Owners, and Delivery Managers

Experience supporting hiring and scaling development teams

Knowledge of common patterns in public sector digital services (e.g., GOV.UK design system, GDS assessments)

Strong communication and stakeholder engagement skills
- Ability to work in hybrid or remote settings (subject to client requirements)
